It’s time to bring back the shine.
Politics shouldn’t interfere with the care of individuals. It saddens me to hear how people are often seen as numbers, not as people. After the 20+ years I have spent working in healthcare, my mission is for the people who work on the frontlines (and everyone who needs care) to be heard and seen. All too often the systems don’t recognize that everyone is an individual with unique needs and emotions.
Hi, I’m Vanessa, founder of Time to Shine Therapy Services based in Victoria, BC.
I’m a mom of 3, an amateur photographer, and I absolutely love to cook up unique dishes for the people I love. My mom could always make something delicious out of nothing and I seem to have inherited that trait. I was born in England and my family has moved around a bit. I have lived on Southern Vancouver Island for more than 20 years now and I truly love the West Coast forests and oceanside.
I help people with daunting transitions, trauma, and rising above workplace stress: particularly for physicians, first-responders, and other healthcare providers. I have worked in healthcare for 20+ years, and with lived experience to go alongside that, my life’s work can be summarized as listening and maintaining a safe space where tears are welcome and laughter is never off the table.

Everybody Needs Somebody
The name Time to Shine came to me instantly. You deserve to feel that ‘shininess’ that life used to provide. It’s that feeling when you wake up on the first day of your holidays. The feeling when you’re embarking on a new project or getting close to achieving an important goal. It’s the same feeling in those little moments of wonder, watching your baby or grandbaby squeal as they encounter something novel for the first time.
If you’re feeling like it’s been too long since your life had that glow, or if you’ve been feeling like you might never experience it again, let’s talk about that and see if we can change that together.
